Prowired Weekly Update

Good morning everybody, it’s Danny from Prowired Electrical and I hope you’ve all had an awesome weekend. I didn’t come into the office this Saturday. I promised the family I wouldn’t, so I didn’t. Just good to do nothing really, nothing to do at work. You know, I do many hours and I’m glad that I spent it with the kids.

Last week was a good week. We seem to have a lot of good weeks, it seems, in the office. It’s probably hard for the guys that work for us that see if it’s a good week or a bad week, but we do try and communicate. We have a monthly newsletter that goes out to let them know what we’re doing.

And it’s good for them to know if I’m honest, because otherwise they don’t know what’s going on, you know, sometimes we don’t speak to them for a couple of weeks. So,another good week last week.

The girls in the office have done quote of the week. The quote of the week was, you don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. Of course, I suppose I didn’t even think of that one. And that’s a new one, so that’s cool.

Positive from last week was we won four new jobs last week, hoping two more are going to come in, one or two more this week or next week. We had two, three good inquiries last week. One from Google, so our SEO work, it seems to be starting to work, which is fantastic. And one from the Expo, and one someone that we already know.

The girls in the office are settling in very well. I forget sometimes how young they are, you know.

17 and 18, both are doing really well and they both said they’re wanting to do more. They feel more part of it now, which is good. So as long as they’re happy, I’m happy. So that’s good.

We’ve got a new supplier on board, which is good for solar PV. We’ve got a meeting with them today, which I’m quite excited by actually. That comes from our contact at Simpro. Thanks, James Cannon. I know you’d appreciate a comment in the Simpro world.

The last two weeks have been very busy in here, like literally. I’ve been here mega late, mega early. The team has done overtime in the office.

So, it’s been really good. Not it’s been really good that we’ve worked longer. It’s been very positive, which is always a good atmosphere to be in instead of when it being negative sometimes.

Negative from last week, we’ve still got a problem with our Simpro attachments thing. They’re trying to sort it out, seems to be taking forever if I’m honest, but they will get there.I think it just has to go to certain people in the right places and it gets sorted.

Stock take needs to be a bit better. I think we’ve got everything what we know. I just want to be at a stage that once a year, once a quarter, how much we got, what value of it, are we getting it out to jobs, or has it been sat there for six months and we’ve not done nothing with it.

That’s the difference. We need to know what we’ve got in stock because I don’t want to sit on stock for no reason. So that was the only real negative really, which is not a major. Just try and get, if we’ve got it, let’s try and use it. If not, we donate it to charity, maybe to Demelza. We’ve done that.

To improve on this week, its important to be more organised, which we are massively took a curve on this week, which I’ve got to congratulate the team on in this Monday morning meeting, because I think they’ve actually turned the corner on it. So it’s been brilliant.

Job set up, bit better on job set up.We’ve done that because we feel that we could hand the job over better to our project manager and our electricians by doing a bit more extra work, which is going to be a bit mad but it does pay dividends, but it just makes us busy in the office before a job starts, which is fine.

We improved on last week was quote a follow up, which we did do, which is fantastic systems in place, emails being sent out. Two days after, two weeks after, one or two days before the expiry date of the quotation. So yeah,all in all a very positive week. It’s Monday morning again, we’re in the middle of October now, the weather’s changed.

The last quarter of the year, let’s smash it. And hope you like what we’re doing here. We try to be a bit different. We try to do the right things at the right time, which is always easier said than done. But I really appreciate if you are watching this, thank you so much for being part of the journey.
