Good morning everybody, it’s Danny from Prowired Electrical. Just our weekly catch up, so we’ll take you through, what happened last week.
What was good, what was bad, what’s to improve on. First bit of news, which I’m quite excited about. I don’t know, it’s a massive proud moment really.
We fortunately enough have been finalists for the ECN Awards. So thank you for the people that have voted for us, part of the ECN.
They’re a great magazine in the electrical industry and it seems to be growing and growing and growing. We’re a finalist on November the 30th.
We’re going to have a table there and hopefully, you know, we’re going to take some of the people that have been on the journey with us, invite them to the table.
And obviously it’d be a fantastic achievement for the business if we have that opportunity of winning. But even if we don’t, it’s all about taking part, isn’t it?
Being part of something and sincerely, thanks to all the team for all your hard efforts, because, as I say, as directors of a business, we’re only a little small part of it, and it’s very much the team effort that makes it all work, actually.
So, thumbs up, looking forward to it. Fingers crossed I’d love nothing more for us to win, that’d be fantastic for the company, and I think it will prove to everyone all the mad, crazy stuff that we do is all worthwhile and it’s being noticed by the industry. So hopefully we can come away with some good news, hopefully.
Last week was a good week. Quote of the week last week, ‘Don’t be intimidated by what you don’t know’, which is very true.
I’m a bit of a believer of going out of your comfort zone, trying a little bit harder, trying to be a bit different. And unfortunately, we only fail by trying, and we only get better by trying, and by failing.
So it’s very much, let’s keep pushing an extra 1 percent every week.
Positive for last week, we worked really hard on some site packs for some of our new site projects coming up this year, next year.
And, just trying to be more organised, trying to get orders in, trying to get jobs planned, trying to get the correct drawings and I appreciate all of the people we work for. They’re busy and I think if we can help that’d be great.
It’s been a very productive week last week. Busy, very busy in here and I swear for two days I didn’t hear the phone not ring. I don’t think it, it didn’t feel like it, I went to bed thinking the phone was still ringing, so it’s been a couple of mad weeks actually.
New supplier, Maidstone Green Tech for our PV equipment, hopefully. We’re just in talks with them soon, so hopefully they can service them, but I’m not sure if they can service us, but I’m sure they can.
New member of the team, started this week. Great attitude, local being part of the maintenance team, locally, and at the moment he fits in well.
He is what he says is in a tin, which always helps, because a lot of people try and upsell themselves. But actually, really good guy, fits in well with the team, and so far we’ve had some really good reports. So, can’t ask for anything more at the moment.
Negative from last week was we started the job and we wasn’t prepared enough for it. And that was because of what we tried to implement now, which hopefully will pay dividends in the next couple of weeks time. So we can keep you updated on that.
What to improve on was job variation, job handover, I think sometimes we can service some of our existing clients a little bit better, but I probably could always say that because, I want to believe to service them better, we’ll be a better business.
We’ll be better equipped. They would value our services more and I sincerely think that we really want to carry on with this relationship with them which is good.
I’ve got quite a few meetings this week I got the ‘Bright Mastermind’ which I’ll be going to on Friday, which should be interesting, a Bright Masterclass with about 30 to 40 people going out for dinner in Milton Keynes.
And that would be a lot of brainstorming, what problems are in businesses and who can fix what. Because nine times out of 10, we’ve all had the same problem as someone’s just done so different.
And I always say to myself, if I can come away from that with one little nugget, one thing that we implement, one thing to move forward, it was worthwhile for a whole day out of the office. So, I’m looking forward to that actually.
And obviously to meet some like minded people and have some chat, I suppose. And no doubt probably have a beer in the bar too, which is always cool.
Thanks for watching everybody. Fingers crossed we can try and win that award. We can’t do anything more and if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be but you know what huge congratulations to the team.
Thank you so much without you everyone in the company it is sincerely not possible. Have a great week everybody and see you next week. See you later. Bye.
