Good morning. It’s Danny from Prowired Electrical. I hope you’ve had a great weekend. Back in the office Monday morning, bright and early, busy week this week. I actually forgot how busy this start of the week was, and currently coming towards the end of the month. So that’s always busy for us.
I’ll take you through last week and I can give you a bit of an insight into what’s happened, what good things are happening this week. If it’s the first time watching, we try and do a weekly vlog of what we did last week, the good, the bad. Stuff to improve on and yeah I just sort of give you an insight into our world and hopefully along the way it helps somebody in their business and or a new contact or something like that so it’d be cool to if you’d like to reach out and always up for a conversation or coffee or even importantly a game of golf, which is even better.
Last week quote of the week was ‘Today is your opportunity to build the tomorrow you want.’ So I’ve stopped doing that myself now. I used to do it every Monday morning. One of the new girls in the office has been doing this. She loves doing it, she understands why I’m doing it.
She understands the whole ethics of working as a team. So it’s great that she’s got involved and she probably does a better job than I do, if I’m brutally honest.
Last week was a good week, apparently. Another good week, as I said, I think I said last week. We don’t have many bad weeks, it’s just we are always moving forward in a direction that is forward thinking, not backwards thinking.
I think that’s very important that every week we have to strive to be that little bit better or let’s get that to work this week. I’m adamant we’ll be a better company if we support our staff that are on the sites or on the jobs better. I’m constantly trying to do that. Something to improve, something positive from last week, the girls got SharePoint up to date, which is all their filing system.
So that’s very cool, that is a massive feat, that is a hard one to nail and hopefully we can carry on upkeeping it now we’ve got the right staff in the office.
We’ve got a new PV supplier, which is surprisingly, City Plumbing. We had a few conversations with them last week, and we’ve decided to give them an order for a big job and I’m hoping they can service it. We’ve done our due diligence and I’m pretty certain that it’s going to be a good partnership going forward.
We obviously followed a few people up from our expo last week as well. So that was positive. A few conversations floating about, our email marketer, Chris, started sending emails out last week, to see if we can get any people.
We already know if there’s any more enquiries we had on the first day, we’ve three new inquiries, which we wouldn’t have got if without an email. So it just proves that sort of stuff does work. Don’t not want to be a pushy pushy salesman. I just want to make our existing customers or our old customers aware that we’re still here, if you want some help we’re here to help you.
Negative for last week Simpro had a big problem with quote follow up. It doesn’t quite work and I’m probably like most people that do use Simpro as a software have had the problem. I think I fixed it. We fixed it thanks to James Cannon at Simpro. We’re just testing it now. We’re just going through this week of testing and I’m hoping by Wednesday we’ve nailed it. So if that’s the case, massive milestone, but it’s negative because it doesn’t work.
We would like a bit better communication with the site staff. I appreciate that it’s always hard. But at the end of the day, we need them to communicate with the office, but it is getting better. And it was more allocating time, for office staff to do some extra training.
To improve on was stock. We’re trying to get that done. That’s a massive task. Had to get a new wifi at one of our sites for our site cabins for the internet, because it’s blocked. So we’ve got someone up there, which is a really good guy called Tim, who does external antennas basically with a 4G, 5G sim in it. So that’s very cool.
This week, got two new jobs to go and look at first. I’m doing one, I’m doing both this morning. Don’t know why I’ve chosen to do it on a Monday morning, but I am doing it. Got a busy day today. I’ve got back to the office for our weekly meeting at 10am. Then I’m back out again. Going to look at a job in Marden for an existing customer or someone that knows us from an existing customer so that’s quite cool.
Last Thursday, last week, we put in ECN for business of the year under 5 million and yeah, we’ve got a finalist. So that’s pretty cool actually that people are seeing what we’re doing and believe what we’re doing. So you know, don’t care if we win, does not matter. A finalist is a finalist and it’s something better than nothing. It doesn’t cost us anything, just a bit of time to put the stuff together and send it over to him.So really chuffed with that, actually, to be honest.
Got a new job starting this morning, so that’s good. Guys are on site to see how that goes. Hopefully we can start that well and move that in the right direction.
I’ve been listening to a new book that I got put on by Rita and Emerson at Bright Business was, a hundred million dollars leads.
I was listening to an audio book and I thought it just resonated with me. I really liked it, so I bought the book, but I didn’t realise the book was so big. It’s like going back to school. I thought it was just gonna be a normal reading book, like an A5 size, but it’s good because it’s got big words, it’s got pictures, so I can read that easily enough, and it’s in my language, which is quite cool, and that’s why I like the audio book, because it made sense to me, but yeah that’s quite cool.
We’ve got the review of the two new apprentices this week as well as this afternoon and yeah they’re doing okay, so that’s good. So let’s just hope that this week’s a good week, hope you guys are on a good week too, but yeah, keep striving, keep doing what you do in your business.
It’d be lovely to hear from anybody that are interested in what we’re doing or want to be part of the journey, supplier, manufacturer, partners. Anything like that. Anyone wants to join us as a job? It’d be good to just to hear from everybody. So have a great week, everybody. Don’t forget to like, and subscribe, and let’s go and smash this week.
See you later guys. Bye.
